2019 - 2020

STVV starts the season 19 - 20 with a painful home defeat against RE Mouscron. The first victory of the season was booked on the second domestic matchday against Standard Liège. 28 September 2019 will go down in the history books as the most tumultuous Limburg Derby ever played. After a 0-3 back score, STVV came back to 3-3. Immediately after the equaliser the match was stopped, after continued misbehaviour of both supporters. A fine and one match with a limited audience was the verdict of the KBVB.

On 25 November 2019, the club announced that Marc Brys was fired as head coach of STVV. The coach of the second team, Nicky Hayen, temporarily succeeded Brys and did so with excellence. In this way, the Canaries achieved a nice victory in the lion's den. We beat KRC Genk by 0-1.
The Slovenian, Milos Kostic, became Nicky Hayen's replacement. With the new coach, STVV is not having a significant season which even stopped one gameday before the play-offs by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The play-offs were cancelled and STVV finished in 12th place.
