For the fourth game of the preparation, the Kanaries met Standard Liege at the training complex of Sart Tilman.

Coach Hollerbach's team started with a lot of intensity against Standard and created a number of chances. However, Standard had the best chances in the first half hour with several shots on target and with a one on one duel, luckily won by Jo Coppens. Standard's high block allowed Janssens to find a few player in the back of the defense a few times. Bocat intercepted the ball high up the pitch and ran straight at goal before being brought down by a Standard defender. Abou Koita was behind the ball and converted the free kick with a floating ball, 0-1 for STVV in the 40th minute. The Canaries went to the dressing room with confidence.

Both teams started the second half with almost the same lineup. Schmidt replaced Coppens at the position of goalkeeper. Standard tried to get back into the game but did not create any threatening chances. Around the 60th minute Standard changed completely. Konaté was also replaced by Dumont. 6 minutes later Shinji Kagawa was unjustly fouled in the penalty area. The referee pointed to the spot. Penalty for Sint-Truiden, converted by Kagawa himself. 0-2. Delorge replaced Koita just after the goal. A few minutes later Librici and Van Helden came in for Kaya and Boya. Both teams created chances here and there but the score remained unchanged until the end of the match. De Vos also got a few playing minutes in the closing moments of the match.
This is the second consecutive win for the Canaries. They leave for Austria tomorrow for a 10-day intensive training camp!
