Andrea Librici signs his first professional contract!
The young Canary, Andrea Librici, just signed his first professional contract at STVV.
Homegrown player since 2014, the striker, from Herstal, Liège, had a small one-year stunt at OHL in 2019, but came back to Sint-Truiden in the season 2020-2021 to complete his growth. Expected to play with the U18 last season, the polyvalent Canary was upgraded to the b-team under coach Van Winckel. Librici, at only 17 years old, joined the first team this summer for the preparation and featured in a few preparation games under coach Hollerbach. His versatility (he can play as striker, central midfielder or right back), his great stamina and his fighting spirit have convinced the first team's staff to offer him his first minutes (against KAA Gent) and his first contract.
"I wasn't expecting this turn of events. Last season, I was supposed to play with the U18 and I got upgraded to the U21. This season, I was supposed to play with the U21 and I get upgraded to the first team. This feels unreal", said the young Librici, still overwhelmed after his first contract. "This first contract is the result of 10 years of sacrifices for my family and I. I will always give 300% to win every match and help the team. I am really happy to sign for this Club that I hold very dear to my heart".
"Andrea is a young talent who comes from our youth system. His hard work is an example for all the young Canaries who want to one day join the first team. He's been developing lately and I'm sure he'll keep on growing and improving! I want to emphasise on the great work of our youth academy, from the coaches to everybody else working around these young guys. This is the fruit of their superb work.", concluded Andre Pinto, sports director.
Congratulations Andrea for your contract!
