Gianni Bruno is a Canary!
You've probably read it all over the news, but it's now official, Gianni Bruno has signed his contract with STVV. He comes over from KAA Gent on a loan for the 22-23 season.
The 30-year-old striker, Gianni Bruno, is a well-known figure in Belgian football. He went through the youth system of LOSC in France and got his first minutes in Ligue 1 in 2011/2012. Gianni was loaned to Bastia where he scored 8 goals in 31 games. He later moved to another Ligue 1 team, Evian and was loaned several times by the French team (to Lorient in France and to KS Samara in Russia). The Liege player returned to Belgium for the first time in 2017 when he joined Cercle Brugge. In 2 seasons, he scored 16 goals and provided 5 assists. In 19/20 he made the switch to Zulte-Waregem where he had his most productive season in 20/21 with 20 goals and 5 assists. His good performances earned him a transfer to KAA Gent last season. At the Buffaloes, he saw his playing time drastically reduced. He only played in 16 games and scored 2 goals.
Quote Andre Pinto:
"Contracting a player of the caliber of Gianni Bruno is always nice. His value has already been proven at the highest level in Belgium. At the age of 30, Gianni is still one of the best strikers in the country and with his experience and skills he will give our team much more depth."
Let's give Gianni a warm welcome!
