STVV and KVO shared the points on Stayen. It became 1-1. STVV took the lead in the second half through Hara, Gueye took care of the equalizer.
The match did not have a blitz start. Both teams had a hard time creating any chances. Shortly before the half hour De Ridder shook Stayen awake with a masterful bicycle-kick. The party was cancelled, however, because there was an offside signal. Ambrose missed the best chance of the first half.
STVV came out of the dressing room sharp and immediately put the visitors under pressure. Hashioka first hit the side netting. Hara gave the Kanaries a deserved lead a few minutes later. Suzuki was unable to get the ball past Hubert at first, but Hara was quick to finish.
Even before the hour the signs were hanging even. Gueye headed the ball past goalkeeper Schmidt after a free kick. STVV took control again and Hara had another good chance. This time goalkeeper Hubert and the post prevented the Japanese from scoring a second goal.
After that Sint-Truiden remained the better team and created several opportunities. Suzuki was close in the end but couldn't get his header past Hubert and so the 1-1 score was also the final score.
